When I bought this pine-flavored drink, I got some weird looks from my Korean friend. “So… How do you like it?”, he asked with a big grin on his face. My response obviously surprised him.
In fact, the drink wasn’t too bad. Sure, I drank better, but I could imagine myself ingesting this ice cold refreshment while sitting in a hot tub or after going to the sauna. Apparently though, this drink tastes (and I quote(!)) “like old people”. Also, only 아저씨 (“Ajeossi” is a general Korean word for an older man and translates to “Uncle” ) seem to buy and drink it.
Tastewise, It reminded me of Ricola or Em-eukal cough candy with a distinct taste of pine tree. It tasted medicinal in a good way. This probably won’t be my everyday go-to-drink, but I still think my friend’s disapproval was not quite justified.
Would I buy it again? Lets just say I might have to consider that my tastebuds aged faster than the rest of my body.
Would I recommend to try it? Definitely. This is your best chance to know what old people taste like, without actually having to take a bite…
